ASLAB papers presented to ESCAPE Print E-mail
Written by Manuel Rodriguez
Monday, 19 February 2007

Two papers have been presented (and accepted) to the European Symposium on Computer Aided Process Engineering (ESCAPE) to be held in Romania next May.

The two accepted papers are:

  • Functional Modeling for Risk Analysis
  • Merging functional and conceptual ontologies

The first paper is related to the use of funcional modeling techniques (like multilevel flow modeling) to evaluate potential risks in a continuous process (such as a chemical plant)

The second paper presents a new architecture composed of two ontologies. The first one is a conceptual (strutural) ontology that describes what the system has and the second one is a functional ontology that describes what the system can do. Both ontologies are related by a series of common elements.
